Thermal energy is the energy possessed by an object due to the motion of its particles (atoms and molecules). The faster the particles move, the higher the thermal energy and temperature of the object. It is commonly known as heat energy and can be produced by sources like the Sun, burning fuels, or electrical appliances. Thermal energy flows from a hotter object to a cooler object and plays an important role in daily life, such as in cooking, heating water, and keeping our body warm.burning fuels, or electrical appliances.
