Mechanical Energy

Mechanical energy is the total energy possessed by a body due to its motion and position. It is the sum of kinetic energy (energy due to motion) and potential energy (energy due to position or height). For example, when a ball is thrown upward, it has kinetic energy while moving and potential energy when it reaches a certain height. Mechanical energy can change from one form to another, but the total mechanical energy remains constant in the absence of external forces like friction. It plays an important role in our daily life, such as in moving vehicles, flowing water, and operating machines.
